Understand where your data lives, when it leaves your Mac, and which decisions stay with you.

Your data on your Mac
Projects, conversation history, knowledge indexes, and memories are stored locally. Workspace tools can only access files within the project directory.
After downloading a built-in model, on-device inference can run offline. Remote providers, model downloads, web search, and external MCP services require a network connection.
Connections you choose
Remote model and embedding services receive the content needed for their requests. External MCP tools receive the arguments you approve. Review each service’s privacy practices before connecting it; local-first does not mean every configuration is offline.
Web search is off by default. MCP servers must be enabled per project; remote MCP connections require HTTPS.
See the change before it happens
File writes show a diff and require approval. Deletion is off by default. Scheduled tasks never approve actions for you.
Decide what gets remembered
Automatic conversation memory is off by default. Agent memory saves need approval, and you can inspect or delete saved memories.
Keep credentials in Keychain
Provider and MCP credentials stay in macOS Keychain. Project exports exclude credentials.
Exports, backups, and diagnostics
Project JSON exports include conversations and imported workflow templates; memories are optional. Database migrations create local backups, keeping the latest three. Exports and backups may contain project content, so manage these copies separately.
Settings can generate a diagnostic report with versions and operational counts, excluding conversations, file contents, prompts, and credentials. MCP hostnames may be included. Review the report before choosing to share it.
